Extra Notes:
In a similar way to the singles listing we have concentrated on the major releases and compilations, when they were first issued. All the albums from the Philips, Vertigo and Bronze catalogue have been re-released a number of times since first released by Bronze, Legacy, Cohesion and Virgin. Versions of the albums have been released on LP, Cassette and CD, although the quality has not always been perfect and the packaging sometimes poor in comparison to the original releases.
For the serious collector there are some more obscure albumks including BBC Transcription Disc Stereo Pop Special 59(1) & (2) and MMEB in Concert. Then there is 'California Coastline' a shortened version of the first album with a very different cover and credited to just Manfred Mann (PLP 3/24015). In The US there have been many radio shows and interviews on vinyl, such as King Biscuit Flower Hour 25/03/84. This is 'Budapest' with a live version of 'Runner' which was broadcast on 28/03/84. 'Budapest' was never released in America.
There are other King Biscuit concerts, Retrorock, Rock Around The World and an Off The Record special to name a few. Further afield, in South Korea is the album 'The Road To Babylon' (Cat No. SCL 1018) by Shilla Records under licence from Capuz music and issued in 1991. This was an interesting compilation with a stunning cover of a Viking/ Norse character. There are several bootleg CD's, one of which is a repeat of the previously mentioned 'BBC In Concert', 'Live In Stockholm' and 'The Road To babylon' to name a few. Happy Hunting!
Manfred's career inside and outside of the Earth Band is prolific to say the least. If you are a serious collector there is no shortage of items to search out.
