Extra Notes:
In the USA 'Living Without You' (Polydor PD 14113) was slightly faster. 'I'm Up And I'm Leaving' (Polydor PD 14130) and 'It's All Over Now Baby Blue' (Polydor PD14164) were singles in 1972 and
1973. 'Mardi Gras Day' (Polydor PD 14173) was released 16/4/73. Other singles had different 'B' sides, for example 'Joybringer' (Polydor PD 14205) had 'Cloudy Eyes' in place of 'Can't Eat Meat'.
From'Spirits In The Night' onwards which was released on 27/10/75 all US releases were on Warner Bros. From 'Demolition Man' released 31/10/83 product was released on Arista in the US and there
were two songs recorded especially for the US market; 'Runner' (Arista AS1-9143) released on 09/01/84 which became a hit in the US. 'Runner' was released as a 12". The other song was 'Rebe;'
(Arista AS1-9203) which was released on 30/04/84. This was not released in the UK at the time.
In Europe all the singles were released with picture sleeves (see website article for details of these). These sleeves varied from territory to territory. The Uk did not get picture sleeves until
'Lies (Thro' The 80's)'. A 12" version of 'Don't Kill It Carol' on the German Bronze/ Ariola label (600 047-100) was released, as was a 12" version of 'Geronimo's Cadillac' on German/ Virgin 10
(609443). Manfred Mann went on to release the 'Plains Music' song 'Sikelele' in Germany, Europe and South Africa (where it had gone to number 1). From the same album came 'Medicine Song'. More
recently CD singles of 'Nothing Ever Happens' and 'Pleasure And Pain' from the 1996 'Soft Vengeance' album were released in Europe as well as a single version of 'Tumbling Ball' in Norway. For the
serious collector there was a bootleg French single (ET 8303) of Manfred Mann's Earth Band on Tour (Somewhere In The Land of !!!!). There were also Far East releases such as 'Nightingales And
Bombers' (P 1413B) on Japanese Bronze. One interesting UK release was an unnumbered white labelled promo containing four sample tracks from the album 'The Roaring Silence'.
